Loyalist blogger Bryson claims he was arrested by police
The loyalist blogger Jamie Bryson has said he was the man arrested by police as part of of an ongoing investigation into criminality linked to the east Belfast UVF.
Searches were carried out at in Bangor and Donaghadee on Thursday 16 August.
Police confirmed a 28-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully supplying unlicensed door staff, had been released on bail.
Speaking on social media, Mr Bryson denied any criminal activity.
In the earlier statement, police say a number of items were seized during the searches, including a BB gun, camouflage clothing, a number of laptops, an iPad and documents.
Detective Superintendent Bobby Singleton said, “The Paramilitary Crime Task Force is determined to disrupt and frustrate any criminal activities linked to paramilitaries.
“And we will continue to be relentless in delivering our contribution in working towards creating the environment in which a culture of lawfulness can thrive across all our communities.”
