Suspected double arson attack at north Belfast flats

Police are appealing for witnesses after fires were 'deliberately started' at two flats in north Belfast.

The incident happened in the New Lodge Road area early on Tuesday morning.

Police and NIFRS arrived shortly after 6am and extinguished the flames.

While firefighters dealt with the fire, they discovered a second blaze in a separate flat.

While no one was in the flats at the time, a woman living in an adjoining flat was treated for smoke inhalation.
