Limavady church defaced in 'sectarian hate crime'

Police have branded the defacing of a catholic church in Limavady, county Londonderry as a 'sectarian hate crime'.

Graffiti was written on the doors of the church on Irish Green street and a crucifix was also damaged.

The incident happened around 8:30 on Tuesday morning.

Police are appealing for anyone with information, or who saw any suspicious activity in the area, to contact officers in Limavady on 101 quoting reference number 275 of 31/07/18.
