Eight-year-old boy dead following Co Down crash

An eight-year-old boy has died following a road traffic accident in Banbridge, Co Down.
The fatal two-car collision happened on the Aughnacloy Road at about 5.20pm on Saturday 21 July.
Three other people - a man, a woman and a child - have been taken to hospital for treatment of injuries which have been described as serious.
Politicians have expressed their sympathies for the child and those injured as a result of the incident.
DUP Upper Bann MP Carla Lockhart has described the incident as "a very tragic occurrence."
Alliance Upper Bann representative Tara Lunn said it will "shock and sadden everyone in the local community and further afield.”
It is the second fatality on the road in a number of weeks.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact local officers in Lurgan or the Collision Investigation Unit.
