Northern Ireland’s Jonathan Rea ended up crashing up of Race 2 at Brno in the Czech Republic, after his record-breaking win at the circuit a day earlier.

Sunday’s eventful race saw Kawasaki rider Rea crash out after a collision with teammate Tom Sykes at turn 12 during the third lap.

That paved the way for Englishman Alex Lowes to claim his first ever World Superbikes win.

He finished ahead of second-placed Michael Van Der Mark and Chaz Davies in third.

Three-time world champion Rea still sits well out in front in the championship standings, 65 points clear of nearest rival Davies.

Saturday’s victory in Race 1 was the Co Antrim man’s 60th, breaking the record for most career wins long held by Carl Fogarty.
