Dubliner Conor McGregor has responded to being stripped of his lightweight title in true ‘Notorious’ style, telling the UFC: “Yous do nothing.”

The 29-year-old Irishman delivered a to-the-point statement via Twitter, where he posted simply: “Yous’ll strip me of nothing, yous do nothing, c****.”

It comes after UFC president Dana White revealed that McGregor’s championship belt will be up for grabs, as he has not fought for the UFC since winning it in November 2016.

The move had been expected for some time, with number one Tony Ferguson holding the interim title in McGregor’s absence and having been booked to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov.

That bout has yet to take place though and Nurmagomedov will now face featherweight champion Max Holloway to decide who claims McGregor’s crown.

The interim belt will become null and void after that decider.

White has been quoted in the New York Post as saying: “We’re not stripping Tony Ferguson. Tony Ferguson isn’t being stripped. The only one that’s losing a belt here is Conor.

“Conor is losing the belt. These two (Nurmagomedov and Holloway) are fighting for the belt.”

McGregor’s last outing saw him beaten by Floyd Mayweather Jr in a much-anticipated boxing match in August last year.
