Co Armagh man in court over Garda Donohoe murder
A man from Co Armagh has been charged with the murder of detective Garda Adrian Donohoe five years ago.
Aaron Brady, 27 and from New Road in Crossmaglen, appeared before a special sitting of Dundalk District Court on Sunday night.
The Irish police officer died after being shot outside a credit union near Dundalk in Co Louth in 2013.
Detective Inspector Pat Marry told the court that, in reply to the charge, Mr Brady said he strongly denied "any involvement in the murder".
Judge John Coughlan remanded him in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on 9 March, and granted legal aid.
Garda Donohoe's widow Caroline was in court for the brief hearing.
