Sinn Féin wants 'to find a deal' says McDonald
Report by Barbara McCann
Mary Lou McDonald has said that, going into the new round of talks, Sinn Féin is interested only in making progress and the delivery of commitments made years ago.
The President-elect was speaking in Donegal at the launch of a charity walk in memory of Martin McGuinness on Sunday afternoon.
"I am ever hopeful. I think it's important to be optimistic and hopeful in all of these matters. We want to find a deal," McDonald said.
McDonald will formally take over from Gerry Adams as Uachtarán Shinn Féin following a special Ard Fheis on February 10.
