East Belfast McDonald's targeted in New Year's Day robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at the Connswater McDonald’s outlet in the early hours of Monday morning.

The armed male - wearing a black hooded top, gloves and had a scarf covering his face - approached a member of staff outside the premises around 5am.

He ordered them into the building demanding money, and made off on a bicycle with a sum of cash.

The member of staff was not injured but was left shaken by the ordeal.
