The annual Apprentice Boys demonstration has been held in Londonderry, with an English band leading the parade for the first time.

Thousands of supporters turned out to watch around 145 bands take part on Saturday.

The Relief of Derry parade, a key event in the Apprentice Boys calendar, marks the anniversary of the ending of the siege of the city in August 1689.

Before the march, there was a procession around the city walls to commemorate the 10,000 defenders that died.

As part of the day’s events, a thanksgiving service was also held at St. Columb’s Cathedral.
