Police appealing for witnesses over fatal A1 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue to investigate a fatal two-vehicle crash on the A1 at Banbridge.

A 53-year-old man, named as Ian Cameron from Dromara in Co Down, died at the scene following the incident on the southbound carriageway at about 12.30pm.

He was the driver of a blue Ford Focus.

A green Mitsubishi L200 pick-up truck was also involved in the collision.

The driver of that vehicle, also a man in his 50s, was seriously injured and remains in hospital where his condition is said to be stable.

PSNI Inspector Nigel Henry has appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has any information, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
