Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly was reportedly assaulted in Belfast on Saturday night.

The north Belfast MLA was apparently left with facial injuries after being assaulted in Cathedral Quarter.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested by police on suspicion of common assault and is being questioned.

It followed a report that a man in his 60s had been assaulted in the Gordon Street area at around 11.20pm.
