Crusaders pushed all the way by PSNI
Crusaders 4-2 PSNI
Crusaders will meet Linfield in the final of the Co Antrim Shield on 24 January after seeing off a stubborn PSNI outfit 4-2 at Seaview.
The Championship side pushed the Premier League champions all the way as they battled back from 2-0 down to level the tie at 2-2.
However, any hopes of springing an upset were dashed when David Cushley edged the Crues ahead with ten minutes to go before Paul Heatley nipped in with a late strike on 90 minutes.
Cushley, the man very much on form for Stephen Baxter's side at the minute, opened the scoring before Owen Mooney made it 1-1.
Michael Carvill restored the lead for Baxter's men, but back came the PSNI with Paul McDowell levelling matters once again.
It was left to Cushley and Heatley to see the Crues safely through with those late strikes, but all credit to the PSNI for playing their part in a keen cup tie.
