Linfield thump Swifts to maintain pace
Dungannon Swifts 0-4 Linfield
Linfield remain four points behind league leaders Crusaders after a comprehensive 4-0 victory away to Dungannon Swifts on Saturday.
Jimmy Callagher claimed the opening goal as he netted from Ross Gaynor’s free kick, although there was a suggestion that Swifts defender Chris Hegarty may have gotten the final touch.
Jamie Mulgrew added a second with a deflected effort a minute later, before Niall Quinn fired a low angled drive past Andy Coleman three minutes before the break to help his side to a 3-0 half time lead.
Gaynor got on the scoresheet himself in the 54th minute to wrap up a comfortable win for David Healy’s side.
