NIFRS not 'horsing around' in Fermanagh rescue
By Damien Edgar
The NIFRS responded on the hoof to a crash that would have sounded like a tall tail in Enniskillen on Wednesday afternoon.
After freeing the driver from their vehicle, crews put their blinkers on and jockeyed a horse free, after it had a bad foal and became stuck in its trailer on the Derrylin Road.
They were assisted by Omagh Specialist Large Animal Rescue team and were able to free the animal after it had been saddled with a few sedatives from a local vet.
The plucky horse has since been taken to a farm and is believed to be in a stable condition, meaning it won't have a long face furlong.
As for the fire crews, they'll be hoping they won't get saddled with too many more call-outs like this one.
In the end though, it was neigh bother to them in dealing with their equine pal.
