Frustration for Northern Ireland fans over fanzone concert clash
Northern Ireland fans have been left frustrated as the Euros fanzone is set to host a concert when their side plays Wales on Saturday.
The 10,000 capacity open air arena has been packed out with people watching previous Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland games live on the biggest screen in the country.
However it seems organisers had not prepared for Michael O’Neill’s men making it through to the last 16 as Titanic Belfast is hosting Belsonic concerts this weekend, with Biffy Clyro headlining Saturday’s show which starts at 6pm, an hour after kick-off at Parc des Princes.
Sunday’s Republic of Ireland match against France has an earlier kick-off time but is still likely to clash with David Guetta headlining Belsonic that evening.
It has left fans demanding answers from the organisers about where they can watch the Green and White Army in the knockout stages.
Organisers said on social media on Wednesday night that they were “unable to to reply to the hundreds of messages we're getting regarding this weekend” and are preparing to update fans on the situation later this morning.
Fans have been flooding the page with suggestions for alternatives venues, including Belfast City Hall, Windsor Park or the SSE Arena.
