Professor Brian Cox has confirmed a second date in Belfast next year due to huge demand for his live show.

The TV star announced last year he would be taking audiences on a “dazzling journey through space and time” with his Professor Brian Cox Live tour.

Tickets for his show at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on 23 November 2016 immediately sold out and the physicist will now appear at the SSE Arena in the city on 23 May 2017.

The popular scientist is also set to take to the stage at The Olympia Theatre in Dublin on 19 November 2016.

Professor Cox has said his shows will be delving into “high science” and “freewheeling on the edges of the known cosmos”.

Cox is well-known for his ability to make scientific matters entertaining and easy to contemplate.

The particle physicist currently works on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland and is a Professor at the University of Manchester.

He is best known to the public as the presenter of a number of science programs for the BBC, boosting the popularity of subjects such astronomy and physics.
