Omagh County Primary School and Kilmaine PS in Bangor have been evacuated after receiving malicious communications on Friday.

The Parent Teacher Association at the Omagh school posted on social media about the alert, with police confirming that ‘a further series of malicious communications’ had been made to NI primary schools.

Students there have been moved to the High School instead.

Children have also been evacuated from Armstrong Primary School in Armagh.

The pupils were taken to Crozier Hall at St Mark's Church.

Parents were told they could collect their children from the church.

Kilmaine Primary School has also been evacuated in Bangor.

Police said they do not believe the communications to be terrorist related and are investigating whether they are linked to a malicious calls made to seven NI primary schools on Tuesday.

Calls were also made to schools across the rest of the UK and two schools in the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday.

One parent of a child at Kilmaine Primary School said that the children had been moved to the nearby Ballycrochan Presbyterian Church for collection after receiving the communication at around 11am.

"There were police walking around the school grounds and all the kids were just standing in the church carpark,” he said.

“It’s just the whole hassle of having to drop everything, there’s no need for it.”
