Burnley signed defender Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough for a joint club record fee of £15million.

Gibson, 25, signed a four-year deal at Turf Moor and will compete with established pairing Ben Mee and James Tarkowski for a place in the back four.

The centre-back has played one season in the Premier League and was called up to the England squad by Gareth Southgate in March 2017.

After leaving his boyhood club where he had been installed as club captain, Gibson penned an open and honest letter as a final farewell to Borough fans.
