Villas-Boas hospitalised after crashing out in Dakar Rally

Former football manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed he is "safe and well" after being rushed to hospital following a crash as he competed in the Dakar Rally.

The former assistant to Jose Mourinho, AVB was in 43rd position for Team Overdrive before he and his co-driver Ruben Faria were forced to withdraw after the accident.

AVB later posted a message on his Instagram account to reassure fans they were both ok.
