Great Britain will ride for gold in the women's team pursuit at the Track World Cup later on Sunday after delivering another dominant ride in the first round in Manchester.

Olympic champions Katie Archibald and Elinor Barker were able to enjoy a lie-in after winning Madison gold on Saturday night and allow Manon Lloyd and Emily Kay to hook up with Neah Evans and Emily Nelson for a comfortable victory over Belgium.

The British quartet covered the four-kilometres distance in a time of four minutes 23.780 seconds, almost catching Belgium on the final lap.

That was almost two seconds faster than the time set by Italy, who will be their opponents for gold later in the day, when Archibald and Barker may return.

The all-British Team Breeze squad of Jessica Roberts, Jenny Holl, Ellie Dickinson and Rebecca Raybould were beaten by Russia in their heat, recording a time of four minutes 31.229 seconds.

Katy Marchant was back in action on Sunday morning in the individual sprint, reaching the last 16 before being edged out by world champion Kristina Vogel of Germany.
