Half a century ago this week, one of the biggest changes in Britain's social history took place.
The 1967 Sexual Offences Act began the decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales.
Tonight, in the first of a series of reports, we look at what has changed since then for gay and lesbian people and what prejudices and obstacles still exist.
