Macron joins Hollande for WWII Victory Day parade

France's new president Emmanuel Macron has joined the outgoing leader François Hollande for a Second World War Victory Day memorial in Paris.

The memorial wreath-laying at the Arc de Triomphe is Mr Macron's first formal public event as the leader of the Republic.

He was warmly greeted by Mr Hollande, who formerly employed Mr Macron in his government.
