La La Land wins best film award at Baftas

Upbeat musical La La Land has triumphed over gritty dramas at the 70th EE British Academy Film Awards.

The film picked up five of the 11 prizes for which it was nominated - including best film, top director for Damien Chazelle and leading actress for Emma Stone.

Viola Davis awarded supporting actress Bafta for Fences

Viola Davis has been awarded the supporting actress Bafta for her role in Fences.

Holding onto her Bafta backstage, Davis said collecting the prize "feels pretty good".

She said: "It's not my style to bask in it too much. I'm good with it, I will have a drink and something to eat and then I'm good."
