Brexit Bill backed by overwhelming majority of MPs

The Government's Brexit Bill has been given the go ahead by parliament after two days of intense debate, by a majority of 384.

The passing of the bill gives Prime Minister Theresa May permission to trigger Article 50 and start formal Brexit talks.

Tories: Brexit Bill vote shows Labour 'hopelessly divided'

The Conservative party have described Labour as "hopelessly divided" after 47 of Jeremy Corbyn's MPs defied their party leader to vote against the Government's Brexit Bill.

A Conservative Party spokesman said: "Labour can't speak for themselves, let alone speak for the country.

"They're hopelessly divided and can't even agree whether they should back the Bill to implement the decision taken by the public to leave the EU."
