Far right fanatic Thomas Mair has been handed a whole life term for murdering the Labour MP in what prosecutors called an "act of terrorism".
Mrs Cox was stabbed 15 times and shot outside her constituency office in Birstall, West Yorkshire.
The mother of Jo Cox's killer Thomas Mair has spoken of her horror at the MP's murder and her son's conviction.
Mary Goodall, from Birstall, told ITV News she had been shocked by what happened.
She said: "It's a sad day. It's a sad, sad thing from beginning to end.
"I never saw any of this coming."
She may have only served her constituents for little more than a year, but those whose lives Jo Cox touched won't forget her lasting legacy.
