Air forces have carried out a fresh missile bombardment on rebel-held sections of Aleppo for the first time in three weeks, activists in the besieged city have said.
The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the airstrikes struck three neighbourhoods.
There were no immediate details on casualties.
Russia has denied taking part in fresh airstrikes in Aleppo.
The attack in the besieged city began just hours after a phone conversation between President Vladimir Putin and and US President-elect Donald Trump.
