Teenager named among victims of Croydon tram crash

A teenager described as a "friendly, genuine lad" has been named among the seven people killed when a tram derailed in Croydon.

The driver of the tram, a 42-year-old man from Beckenham, has been bailed by police amid suggestions it failed to brake before taking a corner at speed.

First Croydon victim named as investigation continues

The first of seven victims of the Croydon tram crash has been identified.

Dane Chinnery, 19, died after the tram left the track and flipped on its side during the morning rush hour on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old driver, who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, has been released on police bail.

Meanwhile the investigation at the scene remains ongoing.
