'We must not allow Yemen to be the forgotten conflict'
Labour MP Keith Vaz has appealed at the House of Commons to not allow Yemen to be the "forgotten conflict".
He said: "Last week, 140 young Yemeni's were killed in Sanaa.
"Last night, Houthi rebels fired at warships that are owned by American warships in the Gulf of Aiden.
"The situation in Yemen is deteriorating. We had an important debate on Syria, but we must not allow Yemen to be the forgotten conflict."
David Lidington, the Leader of the House of Commons, responded on behalf of the Government and said: "Yemen is too often overlooked in our focus upon the appalling situation in Syria at the moment.
"The Government needs to continue to do all that it can to help support the UN special envoy to Yemen and his valiant efforts to establish a credible peace process as well as to devote a decent slice of our humanitarian aid budget to help the people in desperate need in that country."
