Over 1,000 RAF airstrikes carried out in Iraq and Syria

The RAF has now carried out more than one thousand combined airstrikes in Iraq and Syria, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has announced.

The 1,000th strike took place on Sunday August 28th during a Typhoon patrol over western Iraq.

In total, the RAF has flown over 3,000 missions in the fight against so-called Islamic State.
