At least 22 of 51 Turkey wedding bomb blast victims were under 14

At least 22 of the 51 victims of the suicide bomb attack at a Turkish wedding were under the age of 14.

The attack, which took place in the city of Gaziantep, is suspected to have been carried out by a suicide bomber aged between 12 and 14 with links to so-called Islamic State.

It is the latest in a surge of violence this week in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast.

White House condemns Turkey wedding attack

The White House said on Sunday that it condemns the attack on a wedding in Turkey, and that Vice President would discuss terrorism during his trip to Turkey this week.

Ned Price, spokesman for the White House National Security Council said: "The perpetrators of this barbaric act cynically and cowardly targeted a wedding, killing dozens and leaving scores wounded.

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those killed, and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured.

"We stand with the people of Turkey as they defend their democracy in the face of all forms of terrorism."
