At least 22 of 51 Turkey wedding bomb blast victims were under 14

At least 22 of the 51 victims of the suicide bomb attack at a Turkish wedding were under the age of 14.

The attack, which took place in the city of Gaziantep, is suspected to have been carried out by a suicide bomber aged between 12 and 14 with links to so-called Islamic State.

It is the latest in a surge of violence this week in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast.

Eyewitnesses of Saturday's suicide bomb attack in the Turkish city of Gaziantep have spoken of "blood and body parts everywhere" in the aftermath of the blast.

Veli Can, 25, said a wedding celebration was coming to an end when there was a "big explosion among people dancing".

At least 30 people are now believed to have died after the attack, which also killed women and children.

"It was carried out like an atrocity," witness Ibrahim Ozdemir said. "We want to end these massacres. We are in pain, especially the women and children."

The pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party, or HDP, said in a statement that the wedding was for one of its members.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said it is likely that the late night attack was carried out by the so-called Islamic State militant group.
