Max Whitlock: I hope my success inspires Team GB

Olympic double gold medallist Max Whitlock has said he hopes his success can inspire other Team GB athletes yet to compete in Rio 2016.

"Hopefully this can spur people on as well," he told ITV News. "I'm a big believer of 'success breeds success', so hopefully this can inspire some people - we've still got some more athletes going, so good luck to them."

He added: "As soon as you get the ball rolling, it makes people believe it could be possible."

Whitlock made history on Sunday by becoming the first British gymnast to win an Olympic medal after clinching gold in the floor event.

He followed up his win with a second gold in the pommel horse, adding to his bronze in the men's all-around gymnastics final.
