Neighbour of Russell Square stabbing suspect speaks out

A neighbour of the Russell Square stabbing suspect has described him as a "good boy" who was "not radicalised in any way".

Parmit Singh Bhamra told ITV News the 19-year-old, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder, was "academic" and "on the ball".

He said: "He was a good boy, he listened to his mum, he listened to his sister. He used to help out with the shopping, help out bringing things in and out of the house. I don't have anything bad to say about him."

He added that the man was "not fanatic" about Islam, saying: "I guarantee you he was not connected to ISIS in any way."

Police have said there is no evidence the suspect was radicalised and do not believe he was "in any way motivated by terrorism".
