Arrest warrants have been issued for 42 journalists in Turkey as authorities continue a crackdown in the wake of the failed coup earlier this month, private broadcaster NTV reported.

The broadcaster said well known commentator and former parliamentarian Nazli Ilicak was among those for whom a warrant was issued.

Soldiers, police, judges, teachers and civil servants are among more than 60,000 people who have been suspended, detained or placed under investigation since the attempted coup.
