Philando Castile shooting: Officers involved named

The police officer who fatally shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop in Minnesota on Wednesday has been named by state investigators as Jeronimo Yanez.

State investigators said Yanez fired multiple times.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said fellow officer Joseph Kauser was also involved.

Both officers have been placed on administrative leave, the Bureau said.

The shooting of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling in Louisiana a day earlier has sparked protests across the country.

Two police officers were shot at a protest in Dallas on Thursday.
