Obama: 'Too many tragedies' like recent police shootings

President Obama said the United States has experienced tragedies like the killing Alton Sterling and Philando Castile "too many times".

Alton Sterling was pinned to the ground and shot in the chest in Louisiana on Tuesday by two police officers, before Philando Castile was shot dead by officers during a traffic stop in Minnesota a day later.

Mr Obama said he couldn't comment on the specific facts of each case, adding that "all of us as Americans should be troubled" by the shootings.
