Labour MP Ruth Smeeth has called on Jeremy Corbyn to "resign immediately" after she was verbally abused by one of his supporters at a press conference.

Ms Smeeth, who is Jewish, said Mr Corbyn had shown a "catastrophic failure of leadership" and lacked the "backbone to confront racism and anti-Semitism".

Marc Wadsworth, who runs Momentum Black Connexions and was sat in the audience, accused the MP of "working hand in hand" with the Daily Telegraph during a rant at the event in London.

A clearly dismayed Ms Smeeth left the event, which was staged to launch of a report into anti-Semitism in the party.
