Pensioner who tried to help MP Jo Cox hailed a 'hero'

A 77-year-old man who put his own life at risk to try to help MP Jo Cox after she was shot and stabbed in the street has been hailed a "hero".

Colin Frith, a passerby who helped treat the pensioner's wounds after he himself was injured during the attack, praised the man as he told ITV News of how he helped him stem the bleeding from his own wound.

He said: "I think if there's any hero out of this it's him because he's the one that went to the attacker."
