Leave and Remain go head to head in EU referendum debate

Members of the 'Remain' and 'Leave' camps have clashed in the ITV Referendum Debate, with accusations of lying and scaremongering thrown back and forth ahead of the vote in two weeks time.

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon, Angela Eagle and Amber Rudd appeared on behalf of Vote Remain. Former London Mayor Boris Johnson, Andrea Leadsom and Gisela Stuart represented Vote Leave.

Johnson says Britain could have access to single market

Boris Johnson said Britain would still have access to the single market if it left the EU.

This claim was met by further heckling from the remain side, with Angela Eagle saying he was "making it up".

Mr Johnson said the remain side were resorting to "Project Fear" and highlighted a comment by Nicola Sturgeon that the remain campaign was "miserable, negative and fear-based".
