Crashed Egyptair plane's black boxes 'extensively damaged'

Search teams have retrieved the cockpit voice and flight data recorders from the EgyptAir plane which crashed into the Mediterranean in May, killing all 66 on board.

It is hoped analysis of the black boxes will shed light on why the plane crashed en route from Paris to Alexandria.

At present no militant group has claimed responsibility for bringing down the aircraft.

Security officials: No terror suspects on EgyptAir flight

European security officials have said none of the people aboard EgyptAir flight 804 were terror suspects.

The three officials, who spoke to AP on condition of anonymity, have confirmed that none of the 66 people on the passenger manifest were on the terror watch list.

The list is often used by European and American security and law enforcement agencies to identify potential suspects.
