Danny Welbeck faces nine months out and will miss Euro 2016 after knee surgery

Arsenal and England forward Danny Welbeck has had surgery to his right knee and will definitely miss Euro 2016.

Surgery was required after scans and tests revealed significant cartilage damage.

The 25-year-old was injured during Sunday’s Premier League match at Manchester City, and according to an official Arsenal statement, his full recovery is expected to take nine months.
