Pressure on Corbyn despite better than predicted Labour results in England

Labour suffered losses in English council elections, but the initial results were not as bad as many had expected.

The party also held on to two safe seats in Westminster by-elections, but frustrations with Jeremy Corbyn's leadership still bubbled to the surface.

Khan and Corbyn meet after London Mayoral success

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has met with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn in public for the first time after a weekend of contrasting election fortunes.

While Mr Khan enjoyed electoral success in the capital, Mr Corbyn oversaw less encouraging results for his party in the UK's "Super Thursday" elections.

Sadiq Khan appeared in front of the cameras alongside his party leader following his election victory over Tory rival Zac Goldsmith at the weekend.
The pair chatted about football in the relaxed public appearance.
Mr Khan has urged Jeremy Corbyn and his party to learn lessons from his election victory in the capital by listening to voters.
