Junior doctors to take part in second day of first all-out strike in NHS history

Junior doctors are set to take part in the second day of the all-out strike in the row over contracts.

More than 20,000 junior doctors are thought to have been on strike yesterday as the Health Secretary admitted this was likely to be his "last big job in politics".

The strike is planned to take place between 8am and 5pm on Wednesday.

Public give junior doctors pizza and biscuits on picket line

1.44pm: Members of the public have been showing their support for junior doctors on strike by offering them pizza and biscuits on the picket line.

One note on a jar of chocolate disgestives simply read: "Don't give up!"
