Junior doctors to take part in second day of first all-out strike in NHS history

Junior doctors are set to take part in the second day of the all-out strike in the row over contracts.

More than 20,000 junior doctors are thought to have been on strike yesterday as the Health Secretary admitted this was likely to be his "last big job in politics".

The strike is planned to take place between 8am and 5pm on Wednesday.

BMA chair: Hunt must put patient care before politics

9.50am: The Health Secretary must put patient care before political dogma, the chairman of the British Medical Association said.

In a video posted online, Mark Porter said this was needed for the long-term future of the NHS and the future of junior doctors.
