Comedian Victoria Wood dies aged 62

Comedian Victoria Wood has died aged 62 after a short battle with cancer, her publicist has said.

Fellow comedians Jennifer Saunders, Jenny Eclair and James Corden are among those to pay tribute to the Dinnerladies star, saying she "paved the way" for women in comedy.

Her long-time comedy partner Julie Walters said: "Too heart sore to comment. The loss of her is incalculable."

The death of Victoria Wood is "incalculable", according to her long-time comedy partner Julie Walters.

Following the death of the 62-year-old on Wednesday, Walters said: "Too heart sore to comment. The loss of her is incalculable".

Walters starred alongside Wood in British sitcom Dinnerladies which ran from 1998 to 2000, while they also worked together throughout the 1980s, 90s and 2000s.
