Adam Johnson's victim felt "intimidated and lonely" during the case, she said in a witness statement.
The 16-year-old - who was 15 at the time - said in the statement she found the "whole experience overwhelming".
The witness statement was read out in court ahead of Johnson's sentencing after he was found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan.
The winger, 28, is expected to be jailed.
The court heard that the victim had suffered at school both in her schoolwork and with bullying because of Johnson's actions.
The victim said she had even been approached by a stranger who questioned her relationship with the footballer when she was out.
She added she "has been accused of many things, unable to defend myself, entered many dark places, trying to shut the whole world out".
She added that she had even "felt at risk" going out.
