Hundreds of migrants arrive in Greece despite EU-Turkey deal

More than 1,500 refugees and migrants have arrived in Greece overnight on Sunday, despite an EU-Turkey deal agreeing to send them back coming into force.

In excess of 2,000 refugees are believed to have made the perilous crossing to Lesbos since the deal came into effect at midnight on Saturday.

'Could be some time before Greece deports migrants'

It could be "some time" before Greece deports any of the migrants that have been arriving on its shores as there is a clear lack of resources available to process them, according to Good Morning Britain reporter Jonathan Swain.

Speaking on GMB he said the "Greek authorities are so understaffed" that it a deal between the EU and Turkey, agreeing for Turkish authorities to take migrants back, may not be able to be implemented any time soon.
