At least 18 people have been killed in a shooting at a hotel popular with Westerners in the Ivory Coast.
Four Europeans were reportedly amongst the dead in the attack on the L'Etoile du Sud hotel in the beach resort of Grand-Bassam on Sunday.
The Foreign Office said they were "urgently" trying to establish whether any Brits were involved.
The death toll following a shooting at a hotel in the Ivory Coast this weekend has risen to 18, the country's Interior Minister has confirmed.
According to the official 15 civilians and three members of the nation's security forces were killed in the attack on the L'Etoile du Sud hotel in the beach resort of Grand-Bassam.
