At least 18 people have been killed in a shooting at a hotel popular with Westerners in the Ivory Coast.
Four Europeans were reportedly amongst the dead in the attack on the L'Etoile du Sud hotel in the beach resort of Grand-Bassam on Sunday.
The Foreign Office said they were "urgently" trying to establish whether any Brits were involved.
At least 12 people including four Europeans have been confirmed dead after an attack on a beach resort in the Ivory Coast, Reuters reports.
Multiple masked attackers are said to have opened fire in Grand Bassam, in the south of Ivory Coast.
The resort is around 40 km east of the commercial capital Abidjan and is popular with Westerners.
The Democratic presidential candidate may also have shown his cards on his choice of running mate.
The US president also shared a post on Twitter accusing Dr Anthony Fauci of misleading the public over hydroxychloroquine.
